The aim of the Bhavi Nirman Society (BNS) – an NGO – is to provide selfless service for education, health, employment and upliftment of adolescent girls, and women of disadvantaged and backward nomadic, semi-nomadic, and marginalized communities as well as enhance their awareness and greater community participation to make them self-reliant.
There are a total of 11 Individual in the Executive Committee of the organization and 3 people are in the main working group which looks after the financial, administrative and field work of the organization.
The president of the institution is Dr. Lalit Kishore, who is an educationist and has about 45 years of experience in education and social work. He Has been associated with many organization including the universal Primary Education projects .
Giriraj Prasad Sharma, Institutional Secretary also has good experience in electronic and print media along with doing organizational work for the last 15 years.
Rama Sharma, treasurer of BNS, has 24 years of experience of working with NGOs in the past and is associated with this organization due to his interest in social service and education of deprived children.
The registration of the BNS was done in March 2020 through it started work informally from January 2020 by being associated with relief work and working as resource group for capacity building of of the functionaries of othe organizations.
The organization formally started its work with the during COVID-19 crisis with the help of CII Foundation and other organizations as the part of governmental relief scheme.During two-year of COVID period, BNS reached out to 50,000 families and 200000 peoples distributed relief materials and hygiene kits to the people and creating awareness for self care. It Organized programs, set up vaccination camps etc.
and along with this the organization also worked for the education of adolescent girls during Covid and 300 adolescent girls were educated from classes 1 to 8 through informal education while following the safety rules during this period.
Efforts were also made to enhance the educational levels of children and connecting them to the mainstream education. During the COVID crisis, 500 girls who had left studies were connected to open school system for classes 10 and 12. Nearly 100 girls were given training in saying no to child marriage and other social evils as barriers to equity and inclusion.
The girls were given free sewing training and with the help of the community, and they were made self-reliant in sewing work by getting machines. Along with this, 1000 young women were trained in digital literacy and financial literacy, and 1500 youth were given training to increase their skills. The trainings emphasized computer education, self-employment training and job placement. Currently , in 2024, such skills training work is going on with 2000 youth.
Also, under the digital program for youth in the age group 14 to 18 years, 6000 teenagers are being trained in collaboration with schools on digital security, digital care along with taking precautions and prevention related to cybercrime.
Presently, the organization is carrying out training and educational work with 500 adolescent girls in Niwai and Uniara blocks of Tonk district and Chaksu block of Jaipur district to promote life skills, physical development and local sports. Furthermore, work is being done to connect 1000 women with self-help groups, for bank-linking and connecting them to self-employment and making them self-reliant.
The Organization is continuously working on empowering deprived groups which through CSR in collaboration with CII, Standard Charter, PepsiCo, Aparva/CLP, Hydro. We also received a grant from Azim Prem Ji Foundation for COVID relief material, And along with this, we were also provided some grant money in the form of cash and cheque for working at the local level as partners. Resources have also been received as materials and grants for carrying out institutional work.
Organization’s journey Is on the go in diverse fields that started with COVID-19 relief work since 2018 and the organization has proved its worthiness among the marginalized groups in Jaipur and Tonk districts. Though the organization started working on since 2018 but in It was on March 19, 2020 it was formalized by submitting the challan for the registration of the organization.
Since on March 21, public curfew was imposed and the first corona lockdown took place and there was chaos all around, then all the executive members of the organization came forward and distributed food to the people. Started making packets and giving them to people and it is said that if you start working with a right and noble purpose then people start joining with you, then CII. And Azim Prem Ji Foundation continuously helped us and we were able to serve the people and currently we are also doing social work with zest through project mode.
